Real dogs, real bowls, and customers who stay for a year.

We swapped studio shots for short clips of customers’ dogs eating and tested a first-month offer. Customer lifetime value rose 27%.

The problem

Arlo’s ads looked like every other pet food brand: a clean bowl, a glossy coat, a happy owner. They were expensive and easy to scroll past.

What we did

We asked customers for ten-second clips of feeding time. The best ones became ads with one line of text: what changed after switching.

We tested three first-month offers and kept the one with the best twelve-month value, not the cheapest sign-up.

Choosing the offer by value

A free scoop and bowl cost more up front but kept subscribers longer than a bigger discount.

The result

Cost to win a subscriber fell 33%, lifetime value rose 27%, and return held at 3.1x.

People don’t trust a perfect bowl of food. They trust a dog that can’t wait to eat it.
